Office Holiday Decorating Contest

Last year our dept started a trend in decorating our cubicles.  So now it's an annual event to compete against each other's cubicle section for best decorative holiday theme.

As you can see, we put a lot of effort into winning (very productive day at work, indeed). =P

Here you see our closet wrapped like a present with our blown up picture greeting card.  Then you have a mock-up of Rockefeller Center ice-skating rink below with the big tree behind it.

Here's a close-up of the rink:

We put all the key company people (the contest judges) as ice skaters:

We tried to make it a TV Station Holiday theme since we're in media..(this is my desk, by the way..)

We even bribe the judges with self-made pina-colada (yes, rum during working hrs), sweets, and gifts!
But alas, we won second place.  =(

Want to see who got 1st place?  Media Ops (Direct competitors who sits across from us!)

This is supposed to be Winter Wonderland outside with their car pulling into the driveway on the left, doorsteps to their house and the below pict with the snow and white picket fence.

Yeah, I know..we got robbed.  =X

Memory Lane

It's rare that I stay home on a Sat. night but the weather's awful outside and there really isn't much to do outdoors.  So I decided to stay in and out of boredom, I looked through some of my friend's online picture albums and I got to reminisce on old times.  AGD formed when we were in HS and just a quick glance, it's almost a decade later now.  Wow, time flies by quick.  Anyway, here are some old picts from a few years ago and it brought back so many memories that I just wanted to share..

Some of these friends I've known since elementary school and some not till H.S but nevertheless, the perfect unity of friendship came together when this group meshed.  For those who are in HS or college currently, remember to make good friends and cherish the friendships during the lows and highs at the moment because you never know that some of these people you meet now will be your good friends for the rest of your life.  Good friends are hard to come by especially after you're done with school, finally.

So since I mentioned AGD in the previous post, I mind as well just give a brief synopsis on how we started.  Originally there was 8 girls, but 2 disappeared and from then on there was only 6 but we remained true to each other despite personality and value differences for like ever (foreva eva?) and we still got love for each other and its that that matters.

Alrighty, keep in mind, some of these picts were taken when we were in HS.  =X  I might get slaughtered for posting these up..

This is us having our annual sleepover..usually during the Christmas holidays at Betty's house cuz she has the most clean and cozy place.  But we'd NEVER sleep..we dare each other to break night and talk all day/night long but there was always one that couldn't do it past midnight.  Can you guess who?  =P

This is the result of someone's face being drawn on when they are the first to sleep during an AGD sleepover!! hahaha..kitling was always the weakest link.  When she woke up and saw herself in the mirror, I think she scared herself ..actually, the truth is she scared all of us! haha..xPP

Fast forward a few yrs later,  college's kind of distant us but we never declined a photo session when meeting up.  This is us mimicking the show Top Model..haha look at Jenny's hair flying all over her face. =PP

And this was supposed to be me luring kitter with my tie (stan's tie, actually) but it looks like I'm choking her instead..meanwhile, she's rejecting me.

And this one (similar to the one above) was taken almost 3 yrs ago and looking back, I was so much skinner then..I look slightly different now..(wth, why do I look crossed eye in this pict?  ew..)

This is me currently; you like? =DD

We would always have a fun time when we get together; go places; the endless conversations but somehow we manage to piss each other off one way or another..I guess that's the true test of genuine friendship.  This pict was taken at Johnny Utah's and Kitter is grabbing Jenny tightly, which pissed her off and...

caused both of them to fall off the mechanic bull together..

And we never failed tried to fail in missing each other's birthday events, even in the freezing winter, we'll still go out to paartayy.  This pict is missing kitling but I'll add her in next to us..

kit

hahhaah good times, good times.. I can't stop laughing at kitter's pict..aahahahahaha..AHHHAHHHAHAHA!!!!  I'm a wonderful friend.  Let's be friends so we can skip jolly happily together.  =DD

Highlight Of My Week

About 2 weeks ago the PR girl comes to our cube to ask around if there was anyone we knew that does photography as a hobby because they needed someone to take pictures for this Art Showcase/UM Reception our company was hosting.  I didn't say anything because I'm still considered an amateur in my eyes but my coworker next to me immediately pointed me out.  I pushed away the opportunity at first but she was so persistent and really needed the help.  I finally agreed and I have to admit, it was a great experience after all!  It turned out really fun except for this one time.  I finally feel what photographers go through at times.  They are under-appreciated and goes unnoticed sometimes because you're only known as the 'photographer' but at the same time, people want to look their best so when the photographer is around they pose candidly just incase they might get a good shot out of it.  flaky.

Anyway, last week I was having a REALLY bad week..but then comes Monday the PR girl comes up to me and gives me a copy of MediaWeek and tells me to turn to the second to last page.

Lo and behold there it was, the pict from the Art Event/UM Reception that night!!  I was so ecstatic that the picture was actually published~

Here's the close up.  From left to right: Gaye S. - President (of my company), Tohmas - Artist of the painting in the background, Lynn F. - CEO (of my company) and Matt S. (CEO of Universal McCann).  It made it to the Facetime page with some other famous people; I only recognized the famous model Christy Turlington and Laura Bush (former first lady).

=DD (Double chin happiness!)  I felt much better seeing this after my dreadful past long week.

And to top it off, I hung out with some of my favorite H.S girlfriends (our own made up sorority) tonight at Happy Time Cafe.  AGD is having their 9 yr anniversary early next yr!  A celebration for longest lasting friendship thus far!   (=
